Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)
If you are interested in pursuing a career in the healthcare industry, becoming a certified nursing assistant (CNA) is a great way to get started!
According to the U.S. Department of Labor job opportunities for nursing assistants are excellent. Overall employment of nursing assistants is projected to grow 18% between 2008 and 2018, faster than the average for all occupations (http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos327.htm).
CNA's work under the supervision and direction of licensed nurses (RN or LPN) and assist with direct patient cares to include some of the following; daily hygiene, nutrition, transport, communication, oral cares, and maintaining a safe, clean environment.
Our training centers provide students the necessary information and skills required to become a CNA.
Advanced Nurse Aide - Available Exclusively in Iowa
If you'd like to advance your CNA career or are planning on attending nursing school this course is just for you! The advanced nurse aide course is an additional 75 hours of training which prepares the student to work in an acute care setting. The course is divided into 3 sections: lecture, lab and clinical. The clinical experience will take place in a metro hospital setting.
The course provides the learner with content emphasizing the knowledge, skill set and basic pathophysiology necessary to provide care to patients in the hospital.
Pre-requisites:
- Successful completion of a state approve Nurse Aide Training Course (must provide documentation of a transcript or a certificate)
- CPR certification at the Healthcare Provider Level (Signature Healthcare recommends American Heart Association)
